So last week I traveled to Cancun, Mexico, to attend a free achievement awards trip I won from my printable greeting cards online company for being one of the Top 100 distributors last year. That in itself was pretty amazing – to accomplish something like that in a company that has almost 100,000 distributors is something to be very proud of indeed.
But the best part of the trip by far was the interaction I was able to get from the other 99 folks there. Being surrounded by the top people in our company, our industry, and network marketing was a very unique and special opportunity.
During the week I was able to perform an exercise given by our CEO on what my MLM Blueprint was. This was a fascinating experience, and one I’ll share more about in future posts, but basically you look at every exposure you’ve had to MLM from your first time to now, and all the experiences in between, and you can determine if you have a strong or weak blueprint. If your blueprint for multi level marketing is weak, it’s probably affecting your business. So identifying it is critical if you want to be successful in this industry. Our CEO is so smart for understanding that and giving us the tools to identify and improve on our foundations.
Next we received a two hour leadership training given by our number 2 income earner in the company. This was a real eye opener on what a leader is, and what makes a leader great. I found it to be incredibly inspiring and educational. What I particularly liked was how the speaker related the traits back to specific examples in his career where he needed to utilize certain leadership techniques to facilitate or overcome certain aspects of this business. Instead of making the same mistakes, we can learn from him.
There were a lot more incredible moments where others shared their stories, and some of us were brought to tears with emotion. I can honestly say I am very proud to be part of a crusade to provide improvement to people’s lives simply by sharing my service and opportunity, and that for me is better than any award I could ever receive.
