Organizational Commitment is My Top Priority!

by Sharon Hiebing | April 27th, 2010

When I recently traveled to Cancun, Mexico, for a free achievement awards trip I won from my printable greeting cards online company, I was introduced to a new way of exposing our company’s business opportunity to others.

They are quite simply called Business Opportunity Meetings.  I immediately recognized this technique, however, as a Golden Opportunity-a way to help my team grow quicker, easier and better than ever before.

Over my last 15 months in network marketing, I’ve noticed a phenomenon whereby people sign up with the best intentions of growing a very successful business.  But oddly enough, the minute you ask them to share the product, service or opportunity with others, they get cold feet or go underground on you completely.

A lot of new distributors never make one dime in network marketing, and it’s because they’re afraid to talk.

That’s why the Business Opportunity meeting can be so powerful.  I’ve made an organizational commitment that I’m in the process of explaining to all of my existing distributors, and that I will make to all new ones as well.  Simply invite anyone that you know who fits the following description to your house, my house, a neutral location, or even over the phone:

  • Underemployed-someone who’s experienced a loss of pay, hours or benefits
  • Mom’s who would like to work from home
  • Professionals who love their line of work but not the 40, 50 or 60 hour weeks that go with it
  • Anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit that believes in multiple streams of income
  • Anyone worried about having enough money to retire, or the quality of life in retirement due to lack of funds
  • Anyone willing to spend 5-10 hours a week for 2-5 years so they can quit their existing job

When you get people like this in a room together, it creates social proof.  You show them a quick 30 minute presentation, answer any questions they may have, and chances are a few people will be interested and take action.  This serves three purposes:

1.  Your distributors will earn income immediately, which is critical since if they don’t, they definitely will quit.

2. You will grow a large, thriving team very quickly because week after week you’ll be doing these meetings for existing and new distributors.  They will always have a place to bring a prospect, and the sign ups will continue.

3.  Your new distributors don’t have to do all the talking, you do it for them.  But once they see how easy it is, the fear goes away and they can start having meetings for their own team when they’re ready.

This method is a win-win, and I can’t wait to get started with my team to help them and myself be successful! Wanna come to one of my meetings?

Yes, these are absolutely a powerful way to grow your team. Make it look easy enough so they feel confident to do it themselves. confidence is KEY!

I really did, Joy-look forward to telling you more. And yes, Sharon, I find confidence and duplication are key to helping others realize this really isn’t so difficult. Thanks for replying to both of you.
